By now you probably have this worked out, I hope. A
little more info please!
Processor, ram, hdd, etc. I haven't had any
problems with 7.1 on a desktop but I did on the laptop. Seems that LILO didn't
like my hard drive geometry and refused to work. I installed grub (you should be
familiar with it because that is the boot loader that Mandrake uses) and all is
well now. Do you have a boot disk?
