Re: "w" command reports too many users



Nope.  I'm just logged in as root in the console mode.  The top line tells me
how many users there are, how long the machine has been up, etc.  Then each user
is listed, one per line (login time, idle time, tty, etc.).  The top line says
there are 4 users logged on (which is correct), but only one line is listed
below.

I'll get an example and post it.  (Duh... I should have done that first!)  8-)

	Are you in X?  Some terminal progs (xterm for instance) report
that the user is logged in seperately, where as others don't (wterm).
Nothing to worry about.  Take note of the TTY that is listed, that'll
help.
