I have a rather simple question that has been
sitting in comp.os.linux.x for a week unanswered. Basically it amounts to this.
I have a KVM switch. I have a ThinkPad port replicator which is connected to the
KVM switch so I can see my Laptop display on a nice big 21 inch monitor when
it's in the port replicator to charge batteries, etc. The terminal looks very
nice (for the terminal) but an X session will not display. I know it is because
my default XF86Config is not correct for the monitor, keyboard (all 3 LED's
blink, nice basic light show, but useless) or mouse. The display is blank
(black), the keyboard LED's blink, and no mouse. Now for the
question.........
How can I make X start a second config file? Say
XF86Config-PR? Is there a command line option that I can use to do
this?
