the newest ver of lilo doesnt have that 1023 limitation, you might try
installing the newest ver of redhat you can get your hands on (or perhaps
another distro)

i dont know enough about loadlin to know if this is even a limitation it has
:)

I was wondering if someone could help me out w/ a little install tip.
I'm installing RH for a friend who already has most of his space used up by
win98. Using druid I get "boot sector too large" when trying to make a root
partition. I've tried using loadlin. In autoexec a menue lets you choose to
boot either system. autoboot has been edited and it and dosutils are under
C:.
This does not seem to change my problem with creating root. I feel like
there is something real simple I'm overlooking.
