Now that's a little way from Springfield (it's horrible, typing springfield
makes me me sing it in my head, d*mn Simpsons).

So this talk is open to the public?

Is there any chance of getting a tour of anything at Fermilab?

I did a little work there years ago, and my dad and I got a tour around
some of the accelerator and the dungeons (as I would call them), huge old
tubes, Kloistrion (sp), things I had only read about in electronics, and
some other older ones I hadn't. Huge tubes (and I mean huge), all sorts
of cool things. The guy giving the tour was someone we were doing work
there for just showing my dad and I around, very low key, through the guts
of the place, I never saw one lousy office, just tons of cool toys,
something I'd never expect again. My dad and this guy just went to town,
my dad knew a lot of the pieces from his stint in the service, and a many
of the parts were much older than I am.

We also got to walk through the accelerator control room or area, I don't
think much was going on then.

Wow I had forgotten all about this. Thanks for the memories (there I go
another song again)

So what do you do there, Chris?
