I have been using SQL-Ledger since 2001:

I noticed that the base install of Linux Canada's Quasar Accounting is
now GPL.  It's a nice option because they have a Point-of-Sale software
install, although those options are not Open Source.

Also know that GNUCash is not only designed to be a replacement for
Quicken, but a replacement for Quickbooks as well.  In fact, I would
argue it's designed more for the sole proprietor / sub-S Corp.

It is mathematically impossible for someone who makes more than you
to be anything but richer than you.  Any tax rate that penalizes them
will also penalize you similarly (to those below you, and then below
them).  Linear algebra, let alone differential calculus or even ele-
mentary concepts of limits, is mutually exclusive with US journalism.
So forget even attempting to explain how tax cuts work.  ;->
