Re: DEBIAN



I have it on an old PII-266 laptop. I chose it because
it still supports a floppy-based network install. My
old laptop has no CD. I installed Debian Testing. The
released version (woody) is too old (kde 2, gnome
1.4). Installing programs via synaptic is pretty
simple. They are probably going to reduce the number
of platforms they support, so hopefully there will
release more often. Debian is the base for a lot of
the "EZ" distro's, such as Linspire, Xandros, etc. By
the way, Linspire 5.0 came out. 2.6 kernel, Kde 3.3,
and MUCH better laptop support, which is important to
me.
