Re: Time to Purchase a Cable Modem!



I can take a hint.  Linksys = good!  A Linksys BEFCMU10 followed me
home a few minutes ago from Wally-World.  And wouldn't you know it,
it's on my ISP's list of "approved" modems!

Too late!  I put a Netgear RP614 router into service last year, and it
looks like I get to keep using it for a while.  By the way, I went out
to Netgear's website yesterday looking for a stand-alone cable modem,
only to discover that Netgear no longer sells one.  All they now offer
is the cable modem-router-wireless access combination.  ?!?!?!

Now to swap out my ISP's $5/month cable modem with my own.  How am I
going to stretch a 10-minute project out for the remainder of the
evening?  Guess I'll have to read the manual...
