IMHO, a better method would be for the list manager (majordomo?) to use
the List-* headers. Here is a sample of what they look like for the
SVLUG:

List-Id: discussion list for the Silicon Valley Linux Users Group.
<svlug.lists.svlug.org>
List-Unsubscribe: <http://lists.svlug.org/lists/listinfo/svlug>,
<mailto:svlug-request@lists.svlug.org?subject=unsubscribe>
List-Archive: <http://lists.svlug.org/archives/svlug>
List-Post: <mailto:svlug@lists.svlug.org>
List-Help: <mailto:svlug-request@lists.svlug.org?subject=help>
List-Subscribe: <http://lists.svlug.org/lists/listinfo/svlug>,
<mailto:svlug-request@lists.svlug.org?subject=subscribe>

Apparently some mail clients (mutt?) know how to use these very
effectively.
