Question about UPS.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a good UPS that I can get for under
100 bucks? Its for an Athlon 2000XP box, so it needs to support a pretty
substantial amount of wattage. I'd like something that could give me
5-10 minutes of uptime, if possible.

Also, I have seen some UPS setups with Windows that connects via and
serial cable or a usb cable to the system and shuts the computer down if
the power goes out and the battery of the UPS is running low. However,
these all work using a little background app that is only available for
Windows. Is there something similar to this available (for a meager
price) in Linux?
