vnc of x display :0

there is a special polling vnc server, x0vncserver, that can be used to do 
what i was wanting.  unfortunately it seems my roommate's game server is 
saturating our internet connection so it is slooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwww (beyond 
the slowness of a polling vnc server)
