Re: problems with making rpm's

I have a similar issue. Apparently, SuSE builds e2fsprogs without
htree directory support (a recent addition to ext2/ext3 FSes).

And now the new MDK 9.1 *does*. So, when I built my MDK partition for
a multi-boot system, the SuSE fsck fails on the MDK partition.

I just need to change the spec file to compile with --enable-htree instead
of --disable-htree.

What are the exact changes that should be made to the spec file
other than the above so as to not conflict with future official SuSE
updates? i.e. they ship 1.28 now. 1.32 is out (and is what MDK uses),
but no upgrade from SuSE. I'd like to upgrade to 1.32, since I'm guessing that
in 1.28 perhaps the htree feature was too new and unstable for them to include.

Do I just increment/change the release? Is it really that simple?

And yes, I've filed a bug report with SuSE to tag this issue.
