Also, you can try looking at the config files for up2date and rhn_register.  I think they are in something like /etc/sysconfig/rhn/.  Don't quote me on that. 

Is it still telling you that you need to run rhn_register?  Have you tried using locate to find it?  Or slocate? 

Did you check what rpm's are installed?  

e.g. rpm -qa |grep rhn

Make sure the rpm for rhn_register is installed.

Maybe even try to reinstall it.

/var/spool/up2date directory.
