FWIW, I'll freely admit that I prefer plain text mail, but
multipart/alternative with a text/plain part doesn't really bother me
that much.

Majordomo2 has options to do things to non-text mail (reject, strip
off the HTML bits, reformat HTML-only mail as text, that sort of
thing) if enough people think I should bother turning that stuff on...
