Seriously, I seem to recall that setting up Xinerama was as simple as
editing XF86Config-4 and basically duplicating the "Screen" section,
adding the new "Screen 1" to the "ServerLayout" section, and firing up
X with +xinerama.  That's not to say it's that simple with a dual-head
card like the various Radeons, but it might be...

Have you tried anything yet?

Hmm...  If you get it working, I wonder if the same trick would work
on my VE.
